Cherri Wood is a young illustrator based in Mid Western region of the US. Heavily influenced by film, photography and comic art, she primarily works with watercolours, and does a plethora of ink studies focusing on the dialogue of angst, idiosyncrasies, alienation, and psychosis.
Each work consists of a solitary figure slowly disintegrating in to the empty white space surrounding it. She makes these drawings in black and white with faint traces of washed-out muted colours as well as shadows and ghastly shapes behind the figure to create an atmospheric effect in the piece. She constantly studies the effects of stains and splatter effects of different materials such as condiments.
