Faile are a New York based wheat-paste collective of artists who vandalise property with extreme delicacy and sensitivity. They can often be found walking the streets of Manhattan in the early hours carrying a roll of modified Michael Jackson posters and a brush on a very long pole. Sounds conspicuous but has proved to be a very effective technique.
In the space of a few years the Faile collective have become one of the most popular international producers of street-displayed artwork. Faile's tremedously appealing work graces brick surfaces across the world. Lacking in aggression perhaps but certainly not passion, Failes work testifies that Americana can always be appropriated and enjoyed on one's own terms.
