Adam Neate is the hottest and hippest artist around in the UK at present. He is probably best known for leaving selected paintings/drawings in the streets for a lucky (or they may deem it unlucky?) person to digest, interpret and deal with as they wish. To date well over a 1000 paintings have been distributed in this way.
He is both an urban icon amongst his peers, and recognised Internationally by companies such as Dr. Martens, Sprite and PRADA, all of whom he has been commissioned to design products for. He is continually challenging his work, often quoting Picasso “ to copy oneself is more dangerous than to copy others. It leads to sterility. ” He cites his artistic influences as his wife Waleska, New York Graffiti Artist, Daze, and Picasso. Late 2007 saw Adam's work take Sotheby's auction house by storm, and with the news of no more prints to come the current batch will become extremely rare and highly sought after. The world awaits in 2008!
